Pockster Wordfind for iPhone
A word search game challenges many aspects of cognitive thought, and it is a natural fit for a quick pick up and play game for the iPhone.
With Pockster WordFind we focus on this aspect of game playing. We have incorporated automatic saves to the game so that you can always get back to the game you were playing in case Life happens. The state is saved for each puzzle, which means that you can try one puzzle of WordFind, stop it and select another of the 50 available puzzle, and come back to it at a later date without losing your place on either puzzle.
The finger interface has been fully implemented with intelligent character selection. This simplifies selecting words across the puzzle in one of the major eight possible directions and limits finger drift onto the wrong cells.
Also to make playing easier, the characters are displayed above the puzzle itself, providing a clear view of the word being selected without requiring a look around the finger. Additionally, the word selection endpoint is automatic, letting a quick swipe pick out the desired word. Together these allow for simple and easy playing without the need for a keyboard or constant zooming and panning motions.

Pockster StrongArm
Have you been drinking or stayed up all night and want to see what that has done to your sense of control? Or perhaps stress at work and deadlines have taken their toll?
Maybe you think you are unaffected, but our nervous system and control can be a good measure of our overall physiological state of being. It should not be surprising that our sense of control can vary each day depending on our health and outside influences.
Now, thanks to the mechanical abilities of the iPhone, you can measure your current ability of steady control. The challenge is to simply hold your iPhone in your hand with your arm outstretched and steady. If you can do this easy sounding task for one minute, you pass the test. However, if your arm moves too much, the count starts over.
Once you raise your arm and have the phone in position, it will start announcing the count every five seconds. Until then, tones indicate that you do not yet have it level. Why level? Because that is the position that creates the greatest challenge with gravity.
Sounds simple enough, but the iPhone senses slight movement that you may not be aware of making. After a few count resets, fatigue becomes a large factor in your success.
Of course, there are some people who have a steady hand seemingly all the time, though few in number. ( We would like to think that those are the surgeons of the world, but we have found out otherwise. ) If you are curious, one way to find out how steady you are at the moment is to use StongArm.
You can also check out the state of your friends and colleagues Now, we do not condone the use of StrongArm to help win arguments ( "How can I not be right over someone that is so shaking so bad?") , nor do we suggest use it to prove a point ("With nerves like that you know you want to agree with me"), but we are sure that you can find creative ways to use this capability.
And guys, be warned that a steady armed girl might be all a-flutter in her feelings yet still not show it (but our tests have usually proven otherwise - just ask her to take the challenge while stating loudly that she does not have a huge crush on you).

Pockster Newspaper Games
Pockster Newspaper Games is available for Pocket PC, Windows Mobile and Smartphone devices.
In respect to the original Brain Games, Pockster Newspaper Games is a collection of 4 of the game types we have all played, now brought to the mobile platform in a convenient package.
The full featured games are adapted to the mobile platform and take advantage of the ever-growing capability of the platform. For example, game state for each game title is saved so that you can easily
pick it up where you left it off. Both Landscape and portrait modes are supported, as well as the popular sqaure screen devices. In the trial version we offer complete functionality (including state save) but limit access to the first 5 puzzle titles of each type for a total of 20 playable puzzles.But what about the games themselves?
The standard game title pak included with the software features original quality themed puzzles created for this application, and includes the following counts:
- Crossword - 50 games
- Wordsearch - 50 games
- Crypto - 50 games
- Sudoku - 75 games
Now, more information about the individual game types. Each of these game types were custom written for this application - this is NOT a game collection that was designed for any other purpose than to appear here in our set.
Crosswords
The effect of word play in our brain activity cannot be understated, and a challenging game of Crosswords can be very healthy to our higher functions.
Our Crosswords implementation brings a complete puzzle to the mobile device, including full clues and screen drag for quick manipulation. A full screen zoom can quickly show you any incorrect letters for a hint. A custom keyboard is included that allows the user to enter data and clear entires, or both the standard OSK and external keyboard may be used on crosswords. Colorful icons are provided that allow for return to menu, resetting the game, toggling horizontal and vertical direction, and the aforementioned zoom.
A clue list can be selected and this will show a preview of the grid (with any letters entered so far in the puzzle) in order to assist with solving clues.
Word Search
A word search game challenges many aspects of cognitive thought, and is a natural fit to our collection for staying sharp while mobile.
Words are simply highlighted with the stylus, and if a match is fouind the term list is automatically highlighteed as found.
Crypto
Solving a cryptogram can be challenging and rewarding.
Here we have the mobile version which allows quick game playing with its own designed letter selection tool (for keeping the stylus closer to the chosen letter location). But be warned - we start with no letter hints and limit it to 3 per puzzle title (selected from the menu) just to keep you focused.
Sudoku
Despite its newer arrival to the scene, no puzzle collection designed to stimulate brain activity would be complete without Sudoku. This game's popularity has soared, and for good reason - the simple rules can be quite challenging in its solving.
In our colorful implementation we mark the digits as you go, but while the digits may work with the current puzzle entries it may not be correct as far as the solution is sought - a delightful challenge. As above, we implemented our own number selction in order to keep the stylus close to the grid selection at hand.
